Well done to our cross country runners who took part in the event at RHS. There were some great individual performances with over 150 competitors in each race! Well done to all our runners there were some impressive top 20 finshes!

All of the children in the school went down to St Mary's Church for Easter themed activities. The activities were great and included making a donkey and a cross. A big thank you to Sandra, kate, Ann, Mark M, Ben and Chris for hosting us and running the activities.

Year 1 had a fantastic afternoon taking part in multiskills at Woodbridge School! They took part in a range of different activities and were mixed with children from other schools which helped develop their confidence. Well done to all who represented the school in such a positive manner!

Well done to a selection of boys who represented the school at a Futsal tournament. Futsal is 5 a side football using a harder, smaller football. They boys played 4 games and won all 4! An amazing achievement.

Year 5 and 6 took part in an exciting K'Nex challenge! A local STEM ambassador visited and set the challenge of designing a fairground ride which could spin AND keep the passengers safe! There were lots of very creative designs (some safer than others!) Well done to all who took part, and congratulations to our winners, Lyle, Ted, Albie and Jamie!

A group of girls went to an U10s football festival. They played brilliantly, with great teamwork and enjoyment of the game. They also looked great in the new kit which was kindly provided to us by Kicks and Tricks! We won two matches, lost one and drew one. Well played girls!

A group of Key Stage 2 children visited Woodbridge School where they took part in some languages workshops. They learnt to write some Mandarin characters and had fun using those to create new words. Additionally, they were introduced to the words for colours in Spanish whilst discussing carnivals.

World Book Day was so much fun! What a lovely day we had celebrating! We had shared reads, an assembly in which the teachers read snippets from different genres and a 'drop everything and read' bell! The children all looked wonderful in their costumes!

Last week we were treated to fabulous performances from Years R, 1 and 2. They brought festive joy with their singing and acting. Year R performed 'The Christmas Kitten' and Years 1 and 2 performed 'Starlight.' Year R, 1 and 2, you were all amazing and we are incredibly proud of you all! Well done!

All of the children went down to St Mary's Church in the village today and completed a carousel of different activities including writing or drawing things they were grateful for and things they look forward to at christmas time. We had a fantastic community Christmas Fayre. There were 18 craft stalls, a range of games and activities for children to take part in as well as a raffle! We are very grateful to all who contributed to this fantastic event. We raised £2500 which will go towards further developing our school grounds!

Some of our year 6 children enjoyed a morning in the Art and Design department at Woodbridge School. They used a range of woodworking skills including: sawing, sanding and nailing to create their own set of books- ends. It was a great opportunity to try out some tools and get a taste of what D&T lessons may look like in high school.

Year 2 had a very exciting visit from the Fire Brigade! They have been learning about the Great Fire of London and made replica Tudor houses. They were learning how the houses were really close together and this is how the fire spread. They also compared the modern fire service to what was present in 1666.

KS2 went to St Mary's Church for our Harvest Festival. The children were all amazing and showcased their work brilliantly, performing a medley of songs about carrots, apples and bananas and conkers. There was also some wonderful poetry, art and facts showcased. Thank you to the church for hosting.

Our boys football team today played 5 games, winning 1 and drawing 4. They did not concede a goal! The team narrowly missed out on qualifying for the semi final on goal difference. Well done to our players!

10 athletes from year 4 took part in the U9 Quad Kids. They competed in 50m sprint, vortex howler throw, standing long jump and 1400m run. It was a fantastic event involving over 40 schools. Well done to all involved in showing tremendous teamwork and demonstrating some fantastic sporting talent.

They went on a land minibeast hunt, made mega minibeasts our of natural materials, explored habitats on the walk to the beach, discussed erosion and did some beachcombing. Everyone had a great time!

Year 3 enjoyed visiting Felixstowe to apply their learning about coasts. Led by the Suffolk Wildlife Trust, the children looked at the human and physical landscape. They tested windspeed, air and water temperatures and studied cloud formation.

The sun shone for Reception as they headed over to Easton Farm Park on their first school trip. The children were able to get up close and personal with Bob the goat and Buddy the sheep. They also fed the goats and met the alpacas.

We took part in the Young East Anglian Artist competition which is run by Woodbridge School. There were in excess of over 1000 entries from 20 different schools. Grundisburgh Primary had 12 pieces of artwork exhibited in The Longshed, Woodbridge. We also had two first places!

Year 4 went on a fabulous trip to Sizewell. They learnt about how electricity is made, about DC and AC electricity, circuits, all about the work at Sizewell and completed a fun fair test experiment. Lots of fun was had by all!

A team of 4 year 3 players travelled to Finborough to compete in a tennis fixture. The children played a range of singles and doubles fixtures. Overall the children were successful in winning the fixture 5-1. Well done to all involved!

Five children from year 5 attended a maths enrichment event at Woodbridge School. They participated in a series of challenging maths activities, competing against 9 other schools. They all worked very hard, both individually and as a team, and came in an impressive 4th position!

French Café 8th May 2024

Year 5 ran a French Cafe. They sold cakes, croissants and baguettes to Year 5 and 6 parents. Year 5 were the waiters / waitresses who had great fun serving from the café. It was brilliant to see the children engaged in practicing their speaking to the adults and children attending, taking orders in French.

The children in year 5 and 6 were visited by a STEM ambassador who led them in an exciting K’Nex challenge. The children were tasked with building a bulldozer which had a moving shovel, wheels and a driver’s cab. They showed great teamwork and problem-solving skills and came up with a variety of designs.

Well done to our 24 runners from year 4, 5 and 6 who represented us in cross country on Wednesday 20th March. We visited St Mary's Church for Easter activities. The activities involved writing / drawing what we are hopeful for, colouring their emotions on a stone, helping decorate the cross and discussions about The Last Supper.

This week has been British Science Week. The whole school was set a challenge to make a tree using 4 pieces of scrap A4 paper. The challenge was, the children were not allowed to use glue, paper clips, Sellotape or staples.
