Tag Rugby at Melton Primary School

We took part in Anti-Bullying Week. All the classes took part in activities to promote anti-bullying. Each class made a box, displaying messages they wanted to share. All of the boxes from each class were put together to make a tower symbolising 'together we are stronger.
Year 5 - West Stow Anglo-Saxon village trip

Harvest Festival took place in St Mary's Church in Grundisburgh with KS2 children. The children were all amazing and showcased their work brilliantly, performing songs such as 'It's harvest time' and a samba rap!

Walk to School Week 2023

So many children walked to school for Walk to School Week with the theme of walking with wildlife. The daily themes have been walk for inclusion, sustainability, health, mindfulness and friendship.

Cross Country at RHS

On Wednesday 29th March teams of years 4, 5 and 6 children took part in the annual cross country event at Royal Hospital School. It was fantastic to take 24 runners to the event, all of whom were a credit to the school.
Drama Club performance

Foxburrow Farm Trip

Year 1 and 2 enjoyed a great day out at Foxburrow Farm learning about plants, invertebrates and exploring the trees through sensory medium.

The children created stalls that they ran themselves and everybody had fun on a glorious summer’s day. The children’s stalls raised £183. FOGS raised £269 from their second-hand uniform / refreshements.
Year 2 Garden Centre

Year 2 held a Garden Centre as part of an enterprise project. They sold plants, suncatchers, plant pots and garden ornaments. Thank you to all the children who came to support them.

We loved getting involved with Walk to School Week! This was also our school wellbeing week so allowed us to focus on the benefits of exercise and noticing nature on our walk.
RHS Cross Country

We took 20 children to a cross country running event at RHS. The children all represented our school with exceptional determination and achievement. Between them they had many successes, PBs and earned 3 medals!
Cambridge Science Centre shows

We had a visit from the Cambridge Science Centre! They performed two workshops. One was about materials which was called 'Stronger by Design' and the other entitled 'Destination Space!' It was great fun!
World Book Day 2022

We loved World Book Day! We enjoyed lots of different activities across the school including sharing stories, making posters, poetry readings, storytelling and live streaming from authors Michael Rosen and Catherine Rayner.

KS2 walked down to St Mary's Church to look at the fabulous display of wreaths created by people from the Grundisburgh community, including one from each class from school. A joy to see.

Emma Dixon, Chair of FOGS, was awarded over 300 saplings from the Woodland Trust. These have been planted along the fence to our Outdoor Learning area by the children.
Our Themed Autumn Day

We held an Autumn Themed day. The children came to school dressed in Autumnal colours and looked fantastic. All of the learning was based around the theme of Autumn. A great day was had by all.
Easton Farm Park Trip

Year 1 and 2 went to Easton Farm Park. They had an amazing day meeting the animals, going on a tractor and trailer ride and pond dipping. What fun they had!

We held a Christmas Decoration week and made decorations across the school. We displayed them on Christmas Trees, lighting up the playground for all to see and enjoy.

Our Wellbeing Week has seen our children taking lots of their learning outside and included a Zoom Yoga session. The week was thoroughly enjoyed by all and a reminder to be kind to others but be kind to ourselves too.
