When our school moved to the present site in the late 1980's I was the first Community Governor. I thought I would be useful to school in my working role as Director of Finance of a nearby local authority. What I found was that my use to the school came from a combination of work and life experience, which we all have.
My warm feelings for our school have grown the longer I have been involved, particularly as Chair of Governors.
I have never doubted that our school objective is focused on giving the children the most rounded education we can plus making the transition into their next stage just a natural move.
Our Governing Body has a full range of talented people of varying ages who come together to support our school, like a family, from their knowledge and life experiences.
As in any active organisation there is a turnover in governor numbers so I would ask you to consider applying to join our governing body when the next opportunities are advertised. Please remember it is that range of talent , experience, knowledge and personality, that is you, that the governing body needs in its supportive role of the headteacher and our school. Occasionally seeing the funny side also helps.
